Perfect Quote to Describe Farindons!
"in order to avoid the fussed look of Victorian gardens where 'objects of interest' were introduced like currents in a plum duff."

As an aside to masterplanning. Just come across a really stunning concept garden from this years Bilbao Garden Festival. Balmori Associates created The Garden That Climbed The Steps, you will find it under the invited section. I can think of a lot of overly hardscaped areas of London which could do with such an installation! Simple but ingenius!
Original sketches scanned and added as a layer over collage. I much prefer the collage effect with the sketch added in over the top - it has much more visual meaning and stops the collage from looking quite so flat. As for the odd colouring of the bottom image no idea what blogger is doing when it is uploading this j-peg but it seems to want to keep messing with the colours! Grrr! Yellow sky it is then! Hey ho! It just isn't having it! Now my collage looks truely pre-school! :(

Sketch Design 4
Photograph and model photograph merged together in Photoshop. Printed, traced over, photocopied collaged and colouring pencils. Really like the textured effect that collage brings to images, scanning in loses some of this. Still need to work on rendering with pencils. Not sure the two work particularly well together. Think perhaps that there is too much abstract collage and I should have retained elements of the sketch. Improvements for next time....
